The Skookum (now Tessera) team at Naval Base Kitsap has once again been honored with the 2021 Captain Edward F. Ney Memorial Award, recognizing their exceptional food-service operations. This highly competitive award is presented annually to the top U.S. Navy general messes, acknowledging superior food quality, service, and operational efficiency.
Through the AbilityOne® Program, individuals with disabilities play a vital role in supporting military food-service operations across the country. At Naval Base Kitsap’s Trident Inn, Skookum employees have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to excellence, helping the facility secure this prestigious honor.
“Skookum is honored to serve the Sailors and Marines of Naval Base Kitsap in support of their mission of strategic deterrence in the Pacific,” said Jeff Dolven, President and CEO of Skookum. “We appreciate the trust the Navy has shown in Skookum and we value their partnership on this critical contract.”
Since its inception in 1958, the Ney Award has set the standard for excellence in Navy food service.
