We are excited to announce a major milestone at Tessera: we’ve officially moved into a new 50,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Auburn, Washington! This expansion, which we began moving into earlier this year, more than doubles the size of our previous facility and marks an important step forward as we continue to grow our purpose and impact.
Why the Move?
As we take on increasingly ambitious projects, the need for a larger, more advanced facility became evident. This new space enables us to enhance our manufacturing capabilities, create more jobs, and stay deeply connected to the manufacturing community in the Kent Valley.
“This move is a strategic investment in our company’s future and the future of our customers. It ensures we have the infrastructure in place to support growth and innovation,” said Dina Cowan, Tessera’s Manufacturing Sales and Account Director.

Greater Capacity & Advanced Technology
Our ability to manufacture high-quality products is directly tied to the equipment and technology we use. The new facility provides the space for state-of-the-art equipment, enabling us to take on complex projects and expand into new markets.
“We’re adding capacity to serve customers in more substantial ways,” said Zach Tomlinson, Tessera’s Chief Innovation Officer. “We’re investing in new cutting-edge equipment and technology that wouldn’t have been possible to have in a smaller facility.”
Increased Hiring & Workforce Expansion

Enhanced Efficiency & Production Capabilities
Efficiency is key in manufacturing, and a well-designed facility is essential. The added square footage allows for a more intentional layout, which reduces clutter and improves production time and volume.
“With the added square footage and better-designed layout, we will be able to add more equipment as well as organize the shop for better shop flow,” said Alan Mitchell, Tessera’s Manufacturing General Manager.
The new location also brings us closer to key suppliers and finishing companies, allowing for quicker coordination and delivery of materials and further improving our efficiency and responsiveness.
Stronger Customer Support
Our customers rely on us to meet their needs efficiently and effectively, and this expansion demonstrates our commitment to that. With increased production capacity and enhanced capabilities, we are better positioned to support our customers’ evolving requirements, reduce production times, and strengthen supply chain performance.

Looking Ahead
Though we officially moved into the Auburn facility earlier this year, it has taken us a few months to settle in and optimize the space. As we move forward, we remain closely connected to Kent, Renton, and Tukwila, and we are grateful for the City of Kent’s support over the years. We are excited to strengthen our partnerships, expand our impact, and continue delivering high-quality manufacturing solutions.
