Supporting the Future of Facility Management Through STEM

At Tessera, we believe the future of facility management starts with investing in the next generation of leaders, problem-solvers, and innovators.

This summer, Tessera proudly sponsored and supported the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Seabee Engineering & Construction Camp at Naval Base Ventura County in Port Hueneme, California. The camp brought together 38 high school students from 14 states for a week of hands-on experiences focused on STEM, engineering, construction, leadership, and teamwork.

We’re especially proud that Tessera’s own Dave Brewer served as Camp Director, helping lead an exceptional group of campers and volunteers through a program designed to inspire future careers in engineering, construction, and the built environment.

Throughout the week, students worked alongside military personnel and industry professionals, gaining exposure to real-world challenges while learning valuable technical and leadership skills. Experiences like these help students explore career paths that have a direct impact on the facilities, infrastructure, and communities that support our nation every day.

For Tessera, supporting STEM initiatives is about helping build the future workforce. Today’s campers are tomorrow’s facility managers, engineers, project managers, and industry leaders. By investing in programs that encourage curiosity, problem-solving, and leadership, we’re helping create opportunities for the professionals who will shape the future of facility management.

We are honored to support organizations like SAME, recognize Tessera’s leadership in action, and encourage the next generation of professionals as they begin their journeys toward careers that make a lasting difference.
